The vocational language courses are aimed at foreigners living in Germany, EU citizens and German nationals with a migration background who want to improve their chances on the job and training market.
The vocational language courses teach German language skills that you will generally need in the world of work. You will learn the vocabulary, idioms and grammar you need to communicate with colleagues, customers and superiors. The courses also help you to write professional emails and letters or to understand written texts such as operating instructions. The courses also expand your knowledge of job interviews or employment contracts, for example, and prepare you for starting your career. The courses conclude with a certificate examination.
The Lahr Adult Education Center offers B1 and B2 vocational language courses.
Who can take part?
You have already completed an integration course and/or already speak German at A2 or B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The employment agencies and job centers decide who takes part in the national job-related German language support modules. Please contact your advisor here.
If you are in employment, you can take part in the national job-related language support program if you do not yet have sufficient language skills to cope with everyday (future) working life. You will have to pay a contribution of 50 percent per lesson.
If you have an annual taxable income of less than 20,000 euros, participation is also free of charge for employees.
